April 20, 2016 - 100th Anniversary of the Lafayette Escadrille’s founding, at the Lafayette Escadrille Monument outside of Paris, France. The USAF’s combat legacy started 100 years ago with the Lafayette Escadrille, founded 4/16/1916. France remembers. Sadly, the USAF has forgotten its own history and legacy, and buried its history into that of the 94th Fighter Squadron (F-22s at Langley).
