Work with people with complementary skills. Rotary is unique, caring intensely about health and welfare of our local communities, but we are also big enough to help the rest of the world. You can have a bigger impact as part of Rotary than on your own.” He added that Rotarians are getting nearly 10:1 matches on contributions to fight polio. “But it’s only 20% of what we do.”

150 years ago, this area was the epicenter of one of the greatest campaigns in US Military History. The battles of Chattanooga, Dalton, Resaca, Kennesaw Mountain and Atlanta were the stepping stones on Sherman’s March to the Sea. The Battle of Smyrna took place July 3, 1864, and the Battle of Atlanta was on July 22, 1864 though the fighting in the area really ran from June to September 2, 1864. To bring that fascinating history to life, Smyrna Rotary welcomes award-winning author Bill Marchone (7/8/14) and Gordon Jones, Senior Military Historian and Curator at the Atlanta History Center (9/2/14).
